The purpose of the is to promote the appreciation and responsible enjoyment of wine and to educate its members on all aspects of wine.

There
is no fee to join the Triangle Chapter, but membership in the national
American Wine Society
is required to be a member of our chapter. (However, you can try us out
for free – read on!).
Any adult who appreciates and would like to learn more about wine is welcome to join us for a few tastings without first joining the national Society. Simply request to be added to our mailing list (link above), and we will welcome you at several tastings before you have any commitment to join the AWS. You will be charged the same fee as members for the tasting (typically $25/person), and we usually ask all attendees to bring a dish and/or wine to share after the tasting. You won't believe how good the food is at our tastings!
If a Triangle AWS chapter MEMBER is unable to drink wine at a given tasting (e.g., temporarily taking medication incompatible with alcohol consumption) but would still like to enjoy the educational and social aspects of the gathering, he/she may be able to attend (space permitting) for a nominal fee, generally $5, to help cover expenses and offset the income that would otherwise be used to purchase wine. No non-drinking discount is available to guests.
Should you wish to join national AWS (required to become a member of the local chapter after trying us out), the membership fees are shown above (membership includes several publications and industry discounts). AWS National Membership Signup.
